The Oread Hotel
1200 Oread Avenue, Lawrence, KS, 66044

If you’re calling to book, be sure to say you’re with The Harp Guitar Gathering® to get our discounted rate of:
$164 + taxes per night
(Includes breakfast buffet in our own event space, and free parking for 3 nights (it’s usually $25/night).
We have historically reserved a block of rooms for Friday-Sunday. It seems that our pre-Gathering party seems to be here to stay, so that may need to change going forward, we’ll see. We did get the reduced rate included for Thursday.
If you’d rather not call ——–

For those of you wondering about hotel policies for the days outside of Friday-Sunday, this just in from the hotel:
-
If attendees arrive prior to the contracted room nights, the discounted parking would not be applied. Overnight parking would be $25/night. So, this would include Wednesday, Thursday & Monday.
-
If the attendee also wants to stay Monday night, the hotel will honor our group rate , they’ll need to ask for it at the desk. They can call Chloe at her direct line below or Sales Coordinator Jordan Burns at (785)748-6918.

ANOTHER ITEM: WE DIDN’T INTEND TO GET ONLY ROOMS WITH A KING BED BUT THAT’S WHAT THE CONTRACT SHOWS. I JUST FOUND THIS OUT YESTERDAY (6/22). I MISSED THAT ITEM IN THE CONTRACT. I ASKED CHLOE IF WE COULD SWAP OUT SOME OF OUR KING BED ROOMS FOR SOME DOUBLE QUEEN BED ROOMS.
SO
- Chloe has swapped some King rooms for double Queen rooms. There is another event on Friday that is using a bunch of those rooms so we may run out of them.
- However there are some rollaway beds that can be requested from the front desk if they’re needed.
ALSO
PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT OUR CUT-OFF DATE IS OCTOBER 7TH.
AFTER THAT DATE, ROOMS THAT WE’VE ARRANGED TO BE HELD FOR US NO LONGER WILL BE.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Note: We understand that this a bit more expensive than in previous years. Sorry about that. On the other hand, how many things can you think of that aren’t? This is the hotel we needed to use this time around.
